Over the weekend, we decided to take the boys to the State Fair. We had so.much.fun.
Two years ago, I took Aidan on the giant slide and I thought he was going to puke on me. The entire way down he screamed "mom-my, mom-my" and when we got to the bottom he was white as a ghost and said he never wanted to go on it again. Last year he flat out refused and then this year he was all about it. Judging by the look on his face, I would say he was a big fan. It was really fun for me just to notice the difference between the past few years and then this year.We spent a great deal of time checking out all the animals. What else do you do at state fair, right? Isn't this Clydesdale beautiful? In all honesty, horses make me nervous. He sure is pretty though.
I like the pigs and the cows best. (What is better than bacon and cheese?) I thought Gray would enjoy seeing the animals but I was wrong. I shouldn't say that, I think he enjoyed watching them from a distance. Up close, he was not a fan. This pig here snorted right in his face and he immediately started crying. I think it startled him.
Aidan got to pet a cow, which he thought was pretty cool. We also watched some of the judging.
Grayson was not fond of the sheep either. This little guy bleated right in his face. That made him cry too.
This year they had a new exhibit... a shark tank. Aidan loved it. There was also a little show. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see it. Grayson was melting in the sun so we left to find some air conditioning but Tommy said Aidan really enjoyed the show. He was overly concerned about the person swimming inside the tank with the sharks though.
My favorite part about the day was the clown show. Aidan actually volunteered to be on stage with the clown and participated in the show. I was shocked but it just goes to show again that as the years go on, he is getting more and more adventurous. Check out the video below. I die. I just die. Too cute for words.
We had the best time. The only thing I wish we had done more of was to eat food on a stick. The weather was so hot that we didn't have much of an appetite. We didn't even get a cream puff! Can you believe it? I'm already looking forward to next year.
