I put new pictures in our frames, so the wall is finally finished. No more empty frames here. I love how it turned out.
I know. EWWWWW. GROSS. I actually hesitated to put this picture in my post because its so nasty looking but it was part of my week, so there ya go! This pretty picture occurred on Wednesday night at 10:30 right before I was taking my butt to bed. Can someone please explain to me why annoying household things need to break or malfunction late at night when you really don't feel like dealing with them? I started a load of laundry only to go down into the basement to switch it over and find this mess. Our house is older so we don't have a fancy schmancy drain line that goes right into the sewer drain. Ours drains into the utility sink first. Apparently our drain pipe is clogged with lint, so water is backing up through the floor drain. Nice, huh? I guess ya'll know what my husband is doing tomorrow morning. :) Thank goodness for husbands!

I have to use Roto-Rooter every spring because our main drain gets overrun with tree roots from the big tree in front of the house.....sucks but thats life - also we installed a "cap" in the basement floor drain so water goes down but not back-up ($8 from Menards)..good luck with the clean up!
